The Puzzle That is Beauty

Hullo guys! I'm soooo sorry I can't give you a drawing, but I'm away from home at the moment. But; I have one more Just Thoughts, and this one means quite a lot to me. So, here it is, The Puzzle That is Beauty.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a lazy Sunday morning, and my family and I were parked in front of the television. As we watched, one of the most renowned beauty pageants in India began airing. A thought struck me, as I watched the contestants with their flawless skin and flowing locks. Not how ravishing the dresses were, or the confidence with which the competitors carried themselves - what struck me was exactly how manufactured all of it was. It all seemed so artificial, so manmade. Even the performances with the shining lights, they all seemed tailored and manipulated as to appeal only to the parts of us that crave perfection and nothing else. When you're younger, it seems like everything you could ever want; not so much anymore.
All of this goes against the first rule of being human: that it's okay to be imperfect sometimes.

The point that I hope to make is, that beauty isn't something that can be achieved by mutilating your skin or what lies beneath it with injections and whatnot.  Beauty cannot be found behind the face of makeup. At first, it seems pristine and unblemished, but, as you look closer, cracks start to appear in their marble facade. Suddenly it doesn't appear so faultless. You start to see what hides beneath the makeup and countless jewels. Even their glittering smiles look forced.

What I mean is, this isn't beauty or even something that might pass for it. The dictionary definition of beauty is "a combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight." I think that beauty is anything that might provoke thoughts, or anything that may put you at peace, or anything that may comfort you. Beauty has hundreds of definitions, it is a word to versatile to be fit into a few lines of words.

Most importantly, beauty can be found anywhere. It might be right next to you, but you haven't noticed. It might be the clothes you're wearing, it might be the mug you're drinking your coffee in, it might also be the person sitting next to you, looking over your shoulder to investigate as you read this. Some people have a gift, to see the world differently. To see the beauty and horror in everyday things. (yes, that was a TMI reference)

The only takeaway from all of this is that it is impossible for something to be ugly, because beauty has a thousand diverse definitions, each different from the last. It is almost impossible to ever fully complete the puzzle that is beauty.
