First Post!!!

Hi guys! Anika here! And this is my first ever true post. (!) Literally the most excited I have ever been. Soooo, this is one of my essays from when I was in fifth grade. I wrote it for a competition organised by The Hindustan Times, the topic being "Man's Greatest Invention". I'm gonna type it out on here as well as post the picture of the original writing. Man's Greatest Invention

In my opinion, man's greatest invention is the wheel. The wheel is an object so ancient archaeologists have no way of knowing who first developed it. The oldest wheel and axle mechanism was found near Ljubljana, Slovenia and dates back to 3100 B.C.

Some uses of the wheel are that it made transportation of goods faster and more efficient, especially when fixed onto horse-drawn chariots and carts. However, if it had been used only for transportation, it would not have been such a world changer. In fact, the shortage of quality roads has limited its usefulness in this matter for thousands of years. A wheel can be used for a lot of other things too. Tens of thousands of other inventions still need wheels to function, from water wheels that power mill, to to gears and cogs that allowed even the most ancient cultures to create the most complex machines. A huge amount of modern technology still depends on the wheel, like centrifuges used in chemistry and medical research, electric motors, jet engines and countless others. Apart from the above mentioned points, I feel that the wheel is an important invention as so many machines would not be able to function without it and transportation would take so much longer.

Overall, I feel that the wheel should be counted as one of man's greatest inventions as it has many uses and advantages.

I Guess This Is It.

 So, I'm moving. after about a year of inactivity, I'm moving to another blog. I don't know if anyone's left here, but this is for maybe the one person who might read it. I want to be emotional but I'm honestly just glad to be rid of Blogger. Never worked. Still doesn't. I outgrew this space.
